The ‘40Y of Innovation’ collection features four iconic models deemed as milestones for the company since its inception in 1972, and demonstrate the brand’s commitment to passion, performance, purism and precision.

The sunglasses are presented in a beautiful black, wooden box, and each is marked with a unique number to show it is one of just 1,972 worldwide – to commemorate the founding year of Porsche Design.

The stunning set includes the 40Y edition of the iconic heritage piece from 1978 – model P’8478 – whose design has remained unchanged to this day and was the first of its kind to feature interchangeable lenses.

They are said to demonstrate the brand's commitment to 'passion, performance, purism and precision'.

Also featured in the collector’s box: 

• Model P’8480 (1980) – the first foldable aviator sunglasses

• Model P’8418 (2006) – the first sunglasses with self-attaching interchangeable lenses

• Model P’8494 (2010) – the first sunglasses pressed from one piece of titanium
